Nice opening with good activity. I was very lucky to work G0HIK/p. He activated the very rare # IO84.

Made 2 new DXCCs and one personal ODX at this nice Tropo Day:
GI6ATZ as new DXCC on 23cm and LA0BY as new DXCC and new personal distance record over 1073kms on 3cm !!!
That was thrilling !

I worked also on 10 GHz:

22:10 OZ7Z JO44VW 55 52 563 km
22:22 DL1KDA JO30EP 559 529 1073 km
Phantastic to work Alex DL1KDA on 10 GHz with such good signals, for a new ODX (700 km more than previous).
I also heard DB0GHZ in JO34WE and several other OZ beacons
RIG: FT-817ND, XVTR DB6NT, PA only 1W, 45cm dish
worked also DL1KDA and PA0JUS on 23 cm

Comment related to 144 MHz and FT8:
This time I was primarily interested in trying higher bands. But I was also put off by seeing way too much focus on FT8 on 2m. There were not many stations around 144.300 MHz, but some DL working locals. But I was listening in on 144.174 MHz FT8 for a while and could see (and hear!) many stations from DL, PA and G in addition to more local. But I did not bother trying to call in FT8, as it seems a total waste of effort to me. There was so much QRM, as most DX stations were well above 0 dB, and several SM6/OZ were S9. It would be much more efficient to work CW/SSB in such condx. I really hope the user community will come to senses soon, and stop focussing on FT8.

PLEASE use CW/SSB in good tropo condx and do not let activity die!!!
