A rather short but often strong ES opening.
All QSO in FT8.
Also HRD & decoded: OM3WC, OK1VOF, HA6NQ, OK1OBR, OK1ADT, SP8XGU, HF6W, SP9CIH, SP8WW, SP9WTC, OM5CM, I8KPV
I tried a lot of SSB calls on 144.300 and around but no answers or stations heard.
It's a pity because it would be certainly possible to work many more stations in SSB because it's much faster.
So please think using SSB also when an ES occurs.

Two distinct Es patches, lots of strong stations from OE, HA and YU.

Brief chordal connection and YO4FYQ popped up for a few periods and I was delighted to complete for a new # on 2m.

Tnx for all QSO's

I said 2m would not open for Es this evening. How wrong I was.
As soon as I noticed how strong signals were on FT8, I QSYed up the band and called CQ on SSB - some very strong signals were there including some taking part in their contest. Strongest was 9A3N and 9A2SB - both were very strong indeed.
So 3 worked on FT8 but 4 worked on SSB - nothing new though.

Very short opening-Es. First at 17:27 GMT I heard a G0 station whose call sign I didn't fully understand due to QSB so I called once. That station called me and when it started to report, its signal was lost!
At 17:34 I heard a call from station G8TIC and then we connected. All in all, it was short, but I'm still satisfied with this one DX in today's Es.

mni tks fer short Es QSO
