All QSOs in FT8. Another fantastic Es day, with good openinge on 6m, 4m and finally also a short opening on 2m from here. Later a scatter point built up above western Poland which was too close for me to use it for contacts.

Comment:
Today 09. June I decided to stop all FT8-activity during ES openings.
Reasons:
1. FT8 makes no sense at all during a good Es opening. One needs at last 1 minute and 15 seconds to complete a valid contact. Imagine how many QSO's can be completed in SSB or CW in this time period. Way more if you are a good operator. This has beed discussed for years now, any change? Nope.
2. It's a weird circus what is happening on 144.174 during the Es season. You have most of Europe concentrating on just one frequeny and you have that a bunch of fools mixing periods every 2 minutes jumping back and for. Especially in Central Europe QRM is a mess and there are many OP's with a bizarre notion what "DX" is all about. Almost everybody is confronted with the "special guy" in the neighborhood calling you for QSO #100+ even that you are TXing "CQ DX" or "CQ UA" whatsoever. These guys will never learn nor will their damned WSJT-Z at their unmanned station.
3. The stupidity of mankind is clearly visible on a day like today when almost 99.9% of all spots collected at i.e. DXMaps are FT8. At the same time you can count endless whine and rants at the ON4KST chat where people become more and more angry - because.... Makes this sence? Not really.
4. This is why I decided to stop all activity in FT8 on 144 in order to keep blood pressure down and to take care of my mental health.

Yes, FT8 has great advantages when signals are close ore beyond to the noise and there is no way to catch the rare fish in SSB or even CW. Talking about super weak tropo or extraordinary propagation (chordal Es, multi hops, start/end of an opening). Makes it sense when 59++ signals are around? Your decision to remember where your microphone has been since you last saw it.
Will a special DX-QRG help like on 6mtrs? 50.323 instead 50.313 or say 144.184 instead of 144.174? I would not bet on it since the ''weird ones'' will show up on .184 soon too incl. the unmanned WSJT-Z .

Very short an very patchy opening on 144MHz today. DX was heard for some minutes, only one QSO completed. Got EA7/SM0KAK as well but NC. Some more good skips seen on PSKReporter for 70/144MHz but only a couple of QSOs on 70MHz made.
Calls on 144.300 in SSB or even on 145.500 in FM are becoming completely useless.
