06:50 GMT: Keith, G4FUF, reports reception of the CS3BTM beacon in IM12.
In the morning it was in here for 17 minutes, never stonger than 559 and 529/539 most of the time. It took almost 2 minutes to positively identify because the choice of keying is so lousy for weak signals. Its also about 300Hz lower in freq than last year. No actual station activity of course... Similar to last night when we had patchy Es to EA8, I am sure tropo ducting played some part on this path this morning as well since we had EA1 in on tropo late last evening, but again poor activity. 13:48 GMT: Tim,G4LOH, reports reception of the CS3BTM beacon again. |
Rig: 4 x 16ele I0JXX ODX: CS3BTM Log: 13:48 CS3BTM IM12or 599 QSB until 14:05 Comment: I had left the radio monitoring the new ED1YAZ beacon in IN53re which was about 529 all day, popped into the shack after lunch to hear CS3BTM chirping it's distinctive keying very loudly! It is just c.100Hz L.F. from ED1YAZ on a similar heading. The Maderia beacon was 599 to noise for about 15 minutes, no other stations or repeaters heard. Tim. |
